A Bharatanatyam exponent, Sankari Mridha is a freelance Bharatanatyam performer, teacher and choreographer. Being a firm believer in maintaining the integrity of tradition, Sankari explores her creativity without compromising on the classicism of the dance form.
Sankari Mridha is a very disciplined dancer and choreographer in the traditional art form of Bharatanatyam, Along with Bharatanatyam, she is a YCB certified yoga teacher, also got a Senior Diploma in Kathak from Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad and she has done the intermediate level in Jazz from Danceworx in Delhi. She completed the ISTD-conducted Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) also honored to be one of the first applicants in the UK to receive a DDE in the Bharatanatyam genre with the highest points.
She has presented her keen ability to understand and imbibe this beautiful art form in many prestigious places such as Bangladesh, Botswana, UK, Rwanda( Kigali) and many states within India such as Kolkata ,Bangalore and Delhi. Performing in front of a sophisticated audience and many cultural critics.
Her performance has been described as delightful and mesmerizing by ‘The Daily Star’, POB News24 ,BD Our time, ‘Janakantha’, UNITED NEWS OF INDIA, Goa Chronicle, The times of India, Asian lite and London Daily Digital.
She has also taught in ‘JM International School’, in Delhi for 3 years and received an ISA award. She has also worked at ‘Indira Gandhi Cultural Center(IGCC)’ from 2013 to July 2016. Currently, she is teaching Bharatanatyam at KCWA Dance School, Croydon and Southend Malayali Association where the students are sitting exams through the ISTD board, though her own organization, “Sankari School of Arts”. She is has also taught Bharatanatyam at Srishti Dance School and was involved in Srishti’s outreach education work and is performing in the SEVENS tour.
